Highland and Islands Blood Bikes (Scottish charity number SC049345) will be holding a tour in the summer of 2024 round some of the stunning locations in the Scottish Highlands and wider Scotland..

From beautiful unspoiled beaches, towering Munro’s and spectacular castles the Highlands are one of the UK’s last unspoiled areas.

Come and take up the challenge and get a location list, your entry number and start to tick off the fantastic highland scenery that we are so lucky to have.

Tickets are available here and cost £15 and we would be delighted if you took up the challenge and spent some time to visit our lovely area and even more delighted if you used the event as a fundraiser for HAIBB.

If you do hold your own fundraiser then you can add your fundraiser to this event and help us to keep this vital service running or add a link so that people can directly donate to this page. HAIBB is using the tour as a fundraiser to generate the essential funds required to run the service.

On purchasing your ticket you will receive confirmation of entry and then (from 2nd April onwards) you will be provided with a list of 30 of the superb locations, some of which our riders and drivers regularly drive through, and your own individual number.

You can then, at your leisure, take a trip through the Highlands and tick off the locations - remember to take a selfie photo of you there with your entry ID number showing.

When you have visited as many as you can email your list and images back to us by the 30th September 2024.

Remember not all locations have the same points value so plan your routes well.

There will be a prize for the rider/driver who collects the most points on their trip - if there is a tie for most points then there will be a draw to decide the winner of the prize.

There will also be a second mystery prize for the person that raises the largest fundraising amount.

HAIBB will use these funds to run its free urgent medical transport service in the Highland region and the blood bikes and vehicles cover over 100,000 miles every year carrying urgent blood and other samples, equipment and medications.

HAIBB is entirely volunteer run and its team is of riders, drivers, controllers, managers, fundraisers and trustees all give up their own time to make this service run every day of the year.

HAIBB was setup in 2019 when a group of bikers realised that the Highland region was one of the last areas in the UK without a Blood Bike group and in 2020 at the start of the Covid 19 pandemic HAIBB went live with 2 second hand blood bikes donated by another Blood Bike group.

Since then HAIBB has grown to have 6 Blood Bikes and 2 vehicles based in Inverness, Wick and Oban.

With runs throughout the NHS Highland area and also runs to Glasgow, Dundee and Edinburgh occasionally there are much further runs which are carried out in relay with other Blood Bike groups.
