MOCAD will be hosting Objects Collection events where families have the opportunity to contribute a Remembrance Object to MOCAD's presentation of The Gun Violence Memorial Project that honors and celebrates the lives of their loved ones taken by gun violence. This vital memorial seeks to honor the lives and narratives of victims through personal remembrance objects that tell their stories. If you wish to contribute, please select a meaningful item that represents and connects with your loved one.
Our collection events will be held on:

Apr 5, 2025 12pm - 5pm
Jun 21, 2025 12pm -5pm
Please register for a 30-minute time slot where you will meet with a museum staff member to collect information about you, your loved one, and their story, as well as collect your object, which will be added to the The Gun Violence Memorial Project.
Remembrance Objects can be anything that tells a story of your loved one. Please note that we are only able to accommodate objects that are no larger than 9” L x 4.5” W x 3” H.

Frequently asked questions
This appointment will be a 30 minute time slot with a staff member who will greet you, collect information about you, your loved one and their story as well as collect your object that you will be adding to the Gun Violence Memorial Project.
Remembrance Objects can be anything that tells a story of your loved one. Please select an object that is no longer than 9” L x 4.5” W x 3” H.
All participants must complete the object intake form prior to your arrival and media release form if you are interested in your likeness or story being shared.
The object must fit within a box 9” L x 4.5” W x 3” H and no more than 3 objects per family.
You must be an immediate family member of the person who was lost
