Kayakers and canoeists are invited to fill the Guyandotte River during the 3rd Annual &quot;Great Guyandotte River Regatta&quot; on June 24, 2023.The Guyandotte Water Trail Alliance and the National Coal Heritage Area Authority and will sponsor the regatta starting at 10 a.m. There are four separate locations along the Guyandotte where kayakers and canoeists can hit the water. Each float will last approximately two hours with some sites providing additional activities with the river float. This fun, family float is sponsored at each location by a community organization with the administrative and financial support provided by the National Coal Heritage Area Authority. Locations are Wyoming County--put in at New Richmond and take out in Pineville, Mingo County--put in at Justice and take out in Gilbert, Lincoln County--put in at Branchland and take out in West Hamlin, and Cabell County-put in at Barboursville Park and take out at Farmville Road.A﻿ll pre-registered participants will receive a t-shirt and floating key chain. These items will be given to those who register the day of the event as available.C﻿o-sponsors for the event include Rural Appalachian Improvement League, Wyoming County CVB, Town of Gilbert, Gilbert CVB, Branchland Community Group, Barboursville CVB, and the City of Barboursville.
