The Great Florida Pollinator Census!
Take part in the annual pollinator count! Learn about local pollinators, using iNaturalist, and contributing to community science!
The Great Florida Pollinator Census is a community science initiative aiming to capture a snapshot of pollinator activity, presence, preference, and plant flowering times. It was created to be manageable for the general public, regardless of their familiarity with various insects.
We will have a class on local pollinators, how to collect data, and resources available to you. Then, we will measure pollinators over 15-minute intervals in our outdoor gardens. Everyone can participate and make a difference for pollinator conservation! Participants will receive a free pollinator-themed sticker.
Make sure to bring water, a hat, sunscreen, and comfortable clothing for the event, as most of it will take place outdoors.
Please register for this event ONLY at ufsarasotaext.eventbrite.com rather than any third party websites, as they are not affiliated with our classes and events.
