Your perspective matters. Your community matters. <h3>More Details:</h3>This is NOT a college lecture. This is an interactive community centered event where YOU can:<ul><li>explore real genomic data</li><li>learn how genes may impact health and medication response</li><li>understand privacy and data protections</li><li>ask questions openly</li><li>share your perspective</li><li>help shape future health research</li></ul>Whether you know nothing about genomics or already have experience with health research, this event is designed for all levels.Together, we will break down:<ul><li>What DNA and genes actually are</li><li>How the body develops</li><li>What genomics means in plain language</li><li>How precision medicine works</li><li>Why community representation in research matters</li><li>How genomics may connect to: cancer risk, heart disease, addiction, mental health, pain management and medication response</li></ul>Participants will also explore public genomics tools and datasets in a guided “Sandbox” environment with support from facilitators and researchers.This event centers community voice, transparency, and trust while helping participants better understand how science and community health connect.
