﻿KEYNOTE SPEAKER BIOM﻿arlon Smith is a Certified Financial Instructor and Legacy Wealth Strategist. <ul><li>Career started as a Systems Engineer for two fortune-100 corporations, IBM and Hewlett-Packard in Silicon Valley, California.</li><li>On January 15, 1992, Marlon listened to his heart and resigned from his corporate position to start Success By Choice, Inc.</li><li>Marlon has personally given keynote presentations and facilitated seminars in 45 states and 18 countries.</li><li>Published author of 7 books and Amazon #1 Best-selling Author.</li><li>Opened 3 offices in South Africa with 67-person staff in developing curriculum and Train-the-Trainer programs impacting millions.</li><li>Semi-finalist for Oprah’s BIG GIVE program.</li><li>Presenter for the Tony Robbins Global Youth Leadership Summit for 21 years.</li><li>Contributing Author to the international best-seller “Chicken Soup for the Soul”.</li><li>Marlon has a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Virginia.</li></ul>S﻿PEAKER/PANELIST BIOMen Tchaas Ari is the President and CEO of Communities In Schools of Charlotte-Mecklenburg, a student support organization that empowers students to stay in school and achieve in life. <ul><li>A native of Bloomfield, Connecticut, Ari has lived in Charlotte for 23 years. </li><li>He is fluent in Spanish</li><li>He has more than 23 years of experience in human services and is a tireless advocate for closing the wealth gap.</li><li>Began his professional career with Mecklenburg County DSS as a Bilingual Food Stamp Case Manager. </li><li>Prior to joining CIS, Ari worked as the Deputy Director of Adult and Economic Services with Mecklenburg County Department of Social Services and prior to working at DSS</li><li>Formerly the Chief Program Officer at Crisis Assistance Ministry, where he was responsible for overseeing all client services. </li><li>Ari is a graduate of Morehouse College, where he received his undergraduate degree in Spanish. He earned his Executive Master’s degree in Public Administration from the Maxwell School of Government at Syracuse University in December 2020. </li><li>In 2018, he received a certificate in Municipal and County Government Administration from UNC-Chapel Hill. </li><li>He is a member of the 2013 Class of Leadership Charlotte, for which he currently serves as immediate past chair.</li><li>Served on the board of the Assistance League and WFAE’s Advisory Board</li><li>A charter member of the New Generation of African American Philanthropists (NGAAP)</li><li>Ari is an aviator, an avid reader and a self-proclaimed health enthusiast.</li></ul>A﻿nthony Herring is the Founder and President of Consulting &amp; Financial Group, Inc. in Charlotte, NC with 38 years of financial consulting experience.<ul><li>Known as a strategic planner, a mathematician who understands numbers, and a person with great knowledge in insurance planning, tax planning, mortgage banking, retirement planning, tax-free income planning and wealth planning. He can help most desiring to build wealth or to achieve their desired finance goals</li><li>His passion to help others, resulted in qualifying for Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT), National Sales Awards, National Persistency Awards and other awards throughout my profession.</li><li>Graduated from Johnson C. Smith University, B.S. Mathematics; Hood Theological Seminary, Masters of Divinity; American InterContinental University (AIU), M.B.A. concentration in Accounting &amp; Finance; and Advance School of Studies, University of Phoenix, focus Doctor of Management in Organizational Leadership, 2023. </li><li>Worked as an Adjunct Professor, University of Phoenix, 8 years, facilitating course curriculum in Personal Finance in the School of Humanities and Business Finance in the School of Business; and several years on RoleModel, Inc., Board Member and Mecklenburg County Minority Affairs Board, as Vice-Chair and Member. Keynote speaker, Chartwell, Inc., Identity Theft Risk and Compliance topic.</li></ul>Cynthia Richards-Donald has been with MassMutual Carolinas since 2014 when she started as a financial planner and has held training and leadership positions. She has been involved in the financial services industry since 1993.<ul><li>Trains and develops junior financial professionals and client relationship managers on how to work with high-net-worth individuals.</li><li>Specializes in working with dentists and business owners to help ensure they have a secure financial future.</li><li>Giving back to the community is a big priority for Cynthia who serves on the board for Charlotte Chapter of the Society of Financial Services Professionals (SFSP) and participates in financial education opportunities.</li><li>Prior to joining MassMutual Carolinas, Cynthia served as a Wealth Management Advisor at TIAA and held various positions within that organization</li><li>Received accolades for her commitment to serving her clients and for being a leader in the various client facing roles she held at TIAA</li><li>Holds a degree in Economics from SUNY at Stony Brook. She earned a Master of Business Administration in Banking and Finance from Dowling College.</li><li>In her spare time,enjoys watching movies and being with family.</li><li>Lives in Charlotte with her husband, Andy and their two sons.</li></ul>MODERATOR BIOR﻿ahman Khan (pronounced Rock-mon Kon) currently serves as Vice President of Community Impact for Charter Communications, leading its strategic philanthropic and employee engagement programs under the Spectrum brand.<ul><li>Seasoned executive in strategic philanthropy, external affairs, community engagement, and diversity and inclusion.</li><li>Has a solid track record of improving communities and leveraging his work to meet the needs of business stakeholders</li><li>Currently leads Charter Communications strategic philanthropic and employee engagement programs under the Spectrum brand.</li><li>Led the 2021 launch of Charter’s largest ever philanthropic program, Spectrum Community Assist, a $30 million five-year effort to revitalize local centers and invest in job training programs. </li><li>Spearheading work to create 100 Spectrum Training and Technology Centers in urban and rural communities over the next five years.</li><li>Led the development of a grant program, Spectrum Digital Education, to help seniors and families understand the benefits of broadband and how to use it to improve their lives. </li><li>Before Charter, spent 20 years in Charlotte, NC serving as Director of Diversity &amp; Inclusion at Time Warner Cable; founding GoodWorks Media Group, where he served as executive producer and host of a PBS station WTVI talk show focused on giving back to the community, “GoodWorks with Rahman Khan”; and pioneering and heading the first diversity and inclusion program at Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools.</li><li>Received his business and graduate education degrees from Florida A&amp;M University, where he also joined Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.</li><li>Graduate of NAMIC’s Executive Leadership Development Program, held at its partner institution, the University of Virginia’s Darden School of Business.</li><li>Received numerous personal and professional honors</li></ul>
