In commemoration of Black History Month, the Los Angeles LGBT Center will host The Future is Black: Renaissance, honoring the Grammy-nominated musician Big Freedia. The free event will include an award presentation, insightful conversations, an interactive portrait studio, and a “mini-ball” after-party.4﻿:30pm - Mixer &amp; food trucks6﻿:00pm - Program begins - Hosted by Tre'vell Anderson &amp; Jarrett Hill of "FANTI" podcast.6﻿:00pm - Bayard Rustin Award presentation to Big Freedia. 6:15pm - Keynote Conversation with Big Freedia and Amber Whittington7﻿:45pm - "America Has a Problem " - A conversation hosted by the Center's Oliver Delgado with special guest Capri Maddox, Executive Director of the Los Angeles Civil + Human Rights and Equity Department.8﻿:30pm - Cocktail party &amp; mini-ballA﻿SL Interpretation will be provided for the duration of the program.T﻿he first 100 guests to arrive will be issued with a free food voucher to redeem at the participating food trucks. All guests over the age of 21 with a valid ID will receive a wristband for two complimentary cocktails or beverages upon entry.Theatre capacity for the program is limited, we encourage you to arrive on time as we anticipate exceeding that capacity. Seats will be filled on a first-come-first-served basis. Overflow virtual viewing in a separate event area will be available for when capacity of the theatre is reached.Parking spaces are very limited, we strongly encourage arriving by ride-share or public transit.
