The Fall Night Sky 

The Lake County Office of Education provides services to our students, School Districts, and community to establish the best educational opportunities for the residents of Lake County.

The Night Sky Series is a lecture series designed for beginners to experienced amateur astronomers, ages high school and above through the Taylor Observatory / Norton Planetarium.
Each class begins in the Norton Planetarium with a one-hour lecture, which will include:

<LI>How to locate seasonal constellations</LI>
<LI>A look into astrological mythology</LI>
<LI>The telescopic wonders that can be found in the night sky</LI>
</OL>
After the lecture, the Taylor Observatory telescopes will be utilized to locate the constellations.
This series covers the constellations prominent in the night sky during the fall season.
A "series ticket" is available for purchase until September 25, 2019 for $75 and will guarantee you a seat at all lectures (Please click on "Select A Date" and then choose "September 25" to purchase a "series ticket.")
The cost for single lecture tickets is $15.
Individual lecture tickets are available at no-cost to Lake County high school students.
Class #1 | Wednesday, September 25, 2019 Pegasus (the winged horse), Aquarius (the water bearer), Pisces Austrinus (the southern fish)
Class #2 | Wednesday, October 2, 2019 Andromeda , Cepheus, Cassiopeia
Class #3 | Wednesday, October 23, 2019 Aries (the ram), Triangulum (the triangle), Lacerta (the lizard)
Class #4 | Wednesday, October 30, 2019 Perseus, Pisces (the fishes), Cetus (the whale)
Class #5 | Wednesday November 20, 2019 Auriga (the charioteer), Camelopardalis (the Giraffe), Taurus (the bull)
Class #6 | Wednesday, December 18th, 2019 Orion (the great hunter), Lepus (the hare), Eridanus, (the river)
There will be a series of six lectures in the spring, and a series of six lectures in the summer.
