A Celebration of Trying New Things! A Free Sample Improv Class at 7:00 and a $10 Improv Show and Longform Improv Jam at 8:00
The Experiment is a new improv community event at The Lab. It combines a Show / Jam / & Sample Class.
The Free Sample class is a chance for anyone who has never done improv to try it out for just a bite for free! The sample happens from 7:00-7:30, is lots of fun, and (as a bonus enticement to try something new) the 8:00 show is free to anyone who participates in the sample class!
This May: Our level 1 students will perform their class show. Opening for them will be ++Good, a two person improv set with Shyla + a guest improviser. Dan DiPasquale, an instructor at The Lab and member of Surgical Humor and Date Nite, will bring his tremendous wit to this double-plus good show.
The Experiment Jam will split improvisers (of every level of experience) randomly into two groups "The Control Group" and "The Independent Variable" by lottery. Each never-before-seen group will have a chance to perform a full set of longform improv with no rehersal and lots of inventive energy. Come see the wild results!
Age recommended: 14+. Some mature topics and language are expected.
