2023 IN FOCUS
As we celebrate our 10 Year Anniversary, the 2023 ECONOMIC AND RACIAL JUSTICE SUMMIT (ERJ) will focus on defining equity and reinvestment through cannabis policy (business and economic development, public health, tax revenue and criminal justice system reform).
The Institute for MORE ( I4M - a program of the California Urban Partnership ) will present a two (2) day line up that centers Survivors from regions across the State; who have been disproportionately impacted and harmed by California’s Drug War. Day 1 (October 5 – 2:30 to 4pm) will feature an exciting panel on the journey to BUILDING ECONOMIC & POLITICAL POWER FOR DRUG WAR SURVIVORS ….. followed by networking, heavy hors d’oeuvres and cocktails at our Awards Reception! Day 2 (October 6 – 11am to 2:30pm) will showcase THE PEOPLE’S HEARING ON CANNABIS EQUITY, a luncheon, mini-documentary film, legislative forum, power building and Call To Action session. FREE NO COST ADMISSION to the Summit is provided to cannabis operators and applicants who have been Social Equity Verified by a California City or County with a Cannabis Equity program. It is designed for Black and Indigenous Communities of Color to collaborate with each other and their allies on closing racial wealth gaps through systems change, social enterprises, and, corporate responsibility. The Summit supports Urban Partnership efforts to broaden policy discussions, data analysis, relationships and capital sources to build power for real economic security.
