The Dead & Down are an indie roots-rock band that refuses to stay in one lane. Fronted by Taylor Burlage's introspective songwriting and dusty vocals, they blend alt-country, atmospheric indie rock, psychedelia, and unexpected prog-rock detours into something that feels entirely their own. Their Montana roots run deep, and so does their ambition—they've opened for Fruition, Futurebirds, and Blind Pilot, and their 2024 release No Broken Bones proves they're a band willing to take real chances. As one critic put it: "Alt-country, but on the moon—and still so down to earth."
