The Davis Center sponsors a conversation with former Governor of Delaware and current White House Coordinator of Afghan refugee resettlement efforts Jack Markell.

Governor Markell will provide an update on the Biden Administration's efforts to welcome these refugees to the US.

Governor Jack Markell is the White House Coordinator for Operation Allies Welcome. He served two terms as Governor of Delaware, from 2009-2017, including serving as Chair of the National Governors Association. Previously, he served ten years as Delaware’s State Treasurer. Prior to public service, Governor Markell served as senior vice president for corporate development at Nextel, among other positions in the private sector. President Biden has nominated Governor Markell to serve as U.S. Ambassador to the Organization for Economic Co-Operation and Development.
