About this event

  • 1 hour 30 minutes

Actor, Broadway/TV/Film producer, and creative entrepreneur David Drumgold brings a special Pride Month edition of his self-titled variety show to the Puffin! Hearkening back to the variety shows of the 60s & 70s - like The Carol Burnett Show, The Flip Wilson Show, and The Cher Show - The David Drumgold Variety show features good old old-fashioned talent, cheer, and the escapism of a good time. It celebrates everything magical about art, and features the very best of comedy, drag, dance, and world-class musicians!

Featured performers include the New York Metropolitan Opera soprano Brandie Inez Sutton, hailed by Opera News for her “sumptuous, mid-weight soprano,” and by the NYT for her “warm, ample voice… ravishing performance… and distinctive earthy coloring”; pianist Yosuhiko Fukuoka, praised by the NYT as a “brilliant pianist…[who]... found a blend of folk, classical, blues, and vaudeville styles”; and R&B/Soul singer Diana Taylor, whose debut single with Priority Records made her the #1 House/Dance artist signed to the famous label, alongside big name rappers like Ice Cube and Snoop Dogg. With more performers yet to be announced, the David Drumgold Variety Show is not to be missed!

The Puffin Cultural Forum, a project of The Puffin Foundation, Ltd., is the non-profit gallery and performance space located at the site of the Foundation's administrative offices in Teaneck, New Jersey. Our work takes place at the intersection of the arts and the struggle for human rights as we seek to realize in our local community the Foundation's governing motto: "...continuing the dialogue between art and the lives of ordinary people". We deeply believe in the crucial role that the arts play in shaping our consciousness, and the role of artists as agents of social change.
