This panel discussion will reflect on the relevance of ‘artists as citizens’ within the context of specialist arts training and consider whether graduates are able, ready, and even willing to work as performers, producers, and creative collaborators in a range of cultural, educational, healthcare, and social justice settings. What role can higher education play in educating and supporting socially engaged arts practitioners and to what extent are conservatoire students and teachers responding creatively and responsibly to the diverse challenges of a world in constant flux?
