Kind Mind Movement

Discover new inspiration through art and nature by slowing down, observing deeply, and engaging all five senses.

Biblioteca Municipal Almeida Garrett, Palacio de Cristal

Have you ever thought about the difference between observing and simply lookingWhat might happen when we broaden the way we observe by engaging all five senses? On September 19th, join us as we approach art in a different, more mindful way. Together, we’ll explore how being fully present with a work of art can deepen its meaning and enrich our interpretation. How can we move beyond the surface to discover what lies behind it, what remains hidden, and what becomes possible when we engage our senses and expand our perception? Can slowing down help us feel more creative and inspired? We’ll meet at the entrance of Jardins do Palácio de Cristal before exploring the gardens and the ongoing exhibition at the Galeria Municipal do Porto. Along the way, we’ll take part in guided practices, explore our creativity, and reflect together on what inspires us.Please bring a pencil and paper for any form of reflection you prefer, whether that’s sketching, writing, colouring, doodling, or something else entirely. If you’re unable to bring them, don’t worry; we’ll have extra materials available.Wear comfortable clothes and shoes, as we’ll be walking together. Depending on the weather, you may also want to bring water, sun protection, or a light rain jacket.Bring your enthusiasm, curiosity, and an open heart for a slow morning dedicated to expanding our perception and discovering new ways of seeing.Later, we will be staying for a chat and grabbing a coffee together to discuss what inspired us and what we noticed.Practical informationDate: September 19Time: 10:30–13:00Meeting point: Entrance of Jardins do Palácio de Cristal (<a href="https://maps.app.goo.gl/mWSkKDz7iUVgDCLX7" title="https://maps.app.goo.gl/mWSkKDz7iUVgDCLX7" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">https://maps.app.goo.gl/mWSkKDz7iUVgDCLX7</a>)Language: EnglishContribution: Donation-basedWhat to bring: Pencil and paper, water, and weather-appropriate clothingWhat to wear: Comfortable clothes and walking shoesNo previous experience with mindfulness or art is needed.
