About this event

Grab some lunch and join us online for a free three part series on internet safety for kids. Kids will be home for the summer, and we want to inform and empower parents. Part one will provide background on the internet and how it can be an entry point for sex trafficking and exploitation. We will highlight the various apps your kids use and what you should know. Part two will focus on the work local FBI Special Agents are doing and give you a peak inside real cases. Part three will conclude with encouragement and talking points for parents to have tough conversations with their children about why they need to limit and monitor their internet and social media presence.

July 14, 11:30a-12:30p - The Covering House staff will present Trafficking 101 and how the internet ties into the risk of exploitation. Learn about the current popular apps and how you can lock them down to monitor your child's online activity.

August 11, 11:30a-12:30p - An FBI Special Agent will highlight real cases and the increase in sextortion. Learn about victim and trafficker demographics.

September 8, 11:30a-12:30p - Join other parents and caregivers for tips and encouragement on navigating the increasing internet exposure for our children
