Pathways to Progress: A Series of Workforce and Community Roundtables for Employers and Community Partners

Sponsored by The Workforce Development Institute (WDI)- “The Community Action Poverty Simulation” moves people to think about the realities of poverty and to talk about how communities can address the problem. This simulation allows individuals to walk a month in the shoes of someone who is facing poverty and realize how interconnected issues of poverty are. It is the first step to empower people and communities to make a difference.

This workforce event is essential for employers:

How does a single parent with limited resources and no transportation find a way to get to work?

How does a family find or pay for daycare in our region?

How do grandparents who are raising grandchildren manage health and employment issues?

How can we creatively and sustainably support our workforce with these challenges?

Tuesday, October 28th: from 9:30am-1:00pm.

Registration and breakfast at 9:30am. Simulation begins at 10:00am.
