The Comedy Shuffle

Capital Laughs is an independent comedy production organization run by a group of  Washington, DC based stand-up comics. Our mission is to cultivate a thriving, diverse DC arts scene by providing a unique and intimate experience for laughers and an enriching environment for comics.With five weekly shows and more to come (returning to H Street and The Loop), there's plenty of opportunities to get away from your kids, your school work or even just your annoying siginifcant other and join us for laughs when we best fit in.Comics who have performed on our shows have also been seen on and/or released specials on HBO, CBS, NBC, Comedy Central, TBS, the DC Improv, Magooby's Joke House, the Montreal Comedy Festival, Just for Laughs, Edinburgh Fringe, and many other just as cool places. Some have been on or written for The Late Show w/ Stephen Colbert, The Tonight Show w/ Jimmy Fallon, Chappelle's Show and Saturday Night Live; many have albums they're working on. And, a few are also new--you gotta start somewhere.We hope to see you at a show.

Mondays suck and this is the anti-Monday show. It's craziness. It's hilarious. It's chaos. This is a free-for-all comedy show open to anyone who wants to sign up (3 min to 5 min). So, there'll be beauty, but there will also be train wrecks. HOWEVER, to keep these comics honest, we'll also have a seasoned comic interrupting them. If the comic on stage is sucking, they'll get ripped to shreds, but, they might also get new tags for their jokes. It's a way to make sure comics bring it and a way to give you an incredibly enjoyable and unique entertainment experience.
Tickets are free.
The show is in the basement room of the DC Comedy Loft (Bier Baron) every Monday at 8pm. Doors at 7:30.

This very popular comedy show is the most fun you'll ever have outside of your house... because, unlike every other comedy show you've ever been to, you will always be laughing at The Comedy Shuffle."That's impossible."NO! It's guaranteed!At The Comedy Shuffle, a comic (any comic) does their little jokes while a seasoned comic (also lit and w/ a mic) interrupts them. If the joke doesn't initially work, the Shuffler's burns do. The Shuffler can end their set at any time (if it's not going well), or let the comic go a little longer to find some brand new material (in a supportive, but accountable atmosphere).It's not mean. It's not. Okay. It's a little mean. But, it's fun and constructive too. How often do you get to see a brand new joke birthed to the world? We're more nervous than you.The show is at Town Tavern in Adams Morgan at 8pm every Monday. Doors at 7:30pm. (List to sign-up goes out at 7pm.) Extended Happy Hour until 9. $4 domestic bottles; $6 wine and select cocktails.
