About this event

Please join us in this 2-day training to help build a suicide safer community by getting the skills to assist someone who may be facing a crisis through learning Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training. We all need support and during this training you will be able to get familiar with intervention skills that are evidence-based and internationally accredited. We dive into indentifying warning signs and risks , undersatnding how to meet a person in need where they are at and help support them in keeping them safe by developing a safety plan finding appropriate resources in our community.

The Steven A. Cohen Military Family Clinic at Child & Family Service provides in-person and telehealth mental health counseling for post 9/11 veterans, service members of all branches (to include National Guard and Reserves), and anyone they consider a family member. We offer individual (adult/child), couples, family, and group counseling. All of our Hawaii staff have military connections as a veteran, spouse of a veteran, or child of a veteran. We understand the challenges you may be facing.

We are a non-profit organization that provides high-quality, accessible, and integrated mental health care using evidence-based practices. We offer brief, client-centered therapy for a variety of mental health issues (including depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress, adjustment issues, anger, grief and loss, family issues, transition challenges, relationship problems, and children’s behavioral problems) by using a Targeted Treatment Model meant to address the specific behavioral concern within 8-12 sessions.

The Cohen Clinic eliminates all barriers to care. Call us at 808-204-4020 or email CohenClinic@cfs-hawaii.org for more information or to schedule an appointment.
