Description
Learning to read is a challenge! There are many reasons why young students struggle to read and many misconceptions about why the process of reading can be so difficult. During this training we will provide you with information on what actually makes learning to read challenging and resources on how we can best support the young readers in our lives.
Learning Objectives
Participants will be able to:
- Reflect upon early reading experiences and how the brain processes language
- Discover and discuss why reading is not a natural process
- Learn what makes learning to read challenging for most kids and what we can do to support their reading journeys
*We will also be prepared to explore additional topics like supporting multilingual learners, managing student behaviors, and learning about the central domains of literacy based on the group’s interest
Who Should Participate?
This training applies to everyone.
