Between the amazing Fat Pete&#x27;s BBQ and our insane lineup, The Breakdown Comedy Show is a can’t-miss event! H﻿EADLINER - YANNICKYannick is a Togolese-born comedian who relocated to Silver Spring at the age of 11. As a child in his home country, he took to the arts early. He was a dancer, model, and also acted in many plays. After moving to America he used humor as a coping mechanism for dealing with a new environment. As a senior in High School, he won class clown at Springbrook High School, which spurred an already budding interest in stand-up comedy.At the age of 18 he first took the stage at a small bar in Silver Spring, and after a solid performance was invited back by the host to perform on a showcase. Imbued with a new sense of optimism and much to his parents&#x27; chagrin he told them that he would start pursuing stand-up comedy professionally. They tried to keep him away and “focused on his studies” but he finally dropped out of his Pre-Law courses at Montgomery College, and moved to New York City to pursue his dream. After a year in New York he produced his first half hour special at the age of 20. Shortly after its release he moved back to DC and began integrating himself into the comedy scene, performing at local (now defunct) favorites like The Pinch, Drafthouse DC, and others.In August 2020, he started “Pay Attention To Us”, a monthly comedy show which he headlines. The show first began as a biweekly outdoor show at the Wheaton Arts Pavillion and ran for 3 months. As the pandemic restrictions loosened, it moved indoors to venues such as Busboys &amp; Poets Takoma, and was later picked up as a monthly show by The Wonderland Ballroom. In December 2023 he produced a Toy Drive/comedy show. It was a simple idea, one toy for entry which resulted in 40 toys that were redistributed to children at the MLK library. Most recently the show has been held at Songbyrd Music House. It always features some of the hottest lineups in the city and prides itself on diversity. You’re bound to find comedy staples and hidden gems in the comedy scene. Besides producing the show he also performs at all the top clubs in the area, including the DC Improv, and the DC Comedy Loft, Arlington Drafthouse, The State Theatre, The Port etc... He’s a staple on showcases in the DMV area, and occasionally features out of state too. His style of comedy can be best described as dynamic, and he covers a wide range of topics from crazy people on the train, to the Red Scare. He’s a master of timing and his material is some of the sharpest out right now. He dedicates his life to artistry and prides himself on only telling bits that are based on his real experiences but he also has a keen observational eye for things going on outside of himself. He’s known to push boundaries in his art and has never been comfortable being comfortable. He’s one of the most solid young voices in comedy and will continue making strides in years to come.When he’s not doing comedy he enjoys playing basketball, playing video games, and making music, and spending time in nature. He’s an avid reader and enjoys all sports, and spending time with his family. Look forward to having him on your show soon!

H﻿OST - HECTOR CASTROHector Castro is a Mexican comedian based in the Washington D.C metropolitan area. His comedy features short lighthearted yet poignant anecdotes about his life with a tinge of social commentary. When he’s not laminating about failed relationships on stage, you can find him walking his dog from Silver Spring to Timbuktu.

F﻿EATURE PERFORMER - CHRISTIAN ESCOTOBorn and raised in Washington, D.C., Christian Escoto began performing comedy after his high school graduation. Since then, he regularly performs around the DC area and the Baltimore region. Using his quick wit and stage persona, Christian entertains the audience with jokes and stories about growing up in DC area as a Filipino-American. He has performed multiple times at the DC Drafthouse Comedy Theater, the DC Improv, the Howard Theater and has opened for Jordan Klepper, Adam Ferrara, Sheng Wang, Robin Tran, Helen Hong and JR De Guzman. He currently tours colleges all across the country.

F﻿EATURE PERFORMER - EM FISKEHailing from Richmond, VA, Em Fiske is a DC-based stand-up comic who has been finding ways to bring laughter to her audiences through her dry takes on life for over 3.5 years. She routinely performs across DC, MD, and VA, with regular spots at Capitol Cider House (weekly as host, performer, and headliner) and DC Comedy Loft at Night Cap (monthly as a performer) and other booked shows. In addition to stand-up, Em has over eight years of experience performing and teaching improv, primarily through the Washington Improv Theatre and with her indie team, Huggy Smalls: The Notorious H.U.G.Outside of performing, Em founded Cheers Comedy (@cheerscomedydc) in 2019 and has since produced booked shows and open mics throughout DC. Through Cheers Comedy, she has also established and writes Fist Bump, the DC area’s only newsletter specifically for comedians, which is distributed monthly.

F﻿EATURE PERFORMER - MISS CHOCOLATEBeverly White, known to the masses as Miss Chocolate, is that seasoned comedian, actor and producer, and spoken word artist that you never knew you needed. She has performed up and down the east coast; from DC to New York, from Baltimore to Philly, and from Atlanta to Memphis; from sea to shining sea. She has performed at The Kennedy Center, The Laugh Factory, The Queer Comedy Festival, The Story District LGBTQIA Out/Spoken Festival, and numerous clubs such as New York’s The Broadway Comedy Club and The Greenwich Comedy Club. She was awarded the 2021 Best of Washington Alice Award for Female Comedian of the Year and was featured in The Washington Blade QUEERY feature, and The METROWEEKLY. She has hosted and produced many shows in the DMV. Miss Chocolate will have you clutching your pearls!

F﻿EATURE PERFROMER - RICH EVEvelyn Richardson, a DC native, and upstanding citizen is a wild card comedian that jokes about life experiences and brings to light what others are already thinking.You never know what you’ll get but you can guarantee that you will get a laugh. She has done shows all over the DMV area, DE, PA, NY, and was a Magoobys 2021 New Comedian Of The Year Finalist and Dewayne White 2022 Spring Fling Comedy Finalist. Her witty delivery will show you that her lines are not the only thing that gets punched. You can follow her at @evelynjcrich on Instagram

F﻿EATURE PERFORMER - HEDI SANDBERGHedi was born and raised in Silver Spring, MD and has been a standup comedian for nearly eight years. Hedi has hosted, featured and headlined at countless shows in the greater Washington D.C. area as well as large name venues from the DC improv and Magooby&#x27;s Joke House, to the Sandman Comedy Club in Richmond, Va and the Broadway Comedy Club in NY. She has been part of the Lady Laughs Comedy festival in Madison, WI, The Tim Northern Comedy Festival in Louisville, KY, The West End Comedy Festival in Atlanta, GA, the Rubber City Comedy Festival in Akron, OH and the DC Comedy Festival. She has featured for Steph Tolev and Tony Woods and co-produces a monthly house show in DC.
