“One who walks with the wise and successful shall be wise and successful.” - African Proverb

The Black & Brown Connect Mixer is the perfect opportunity to meet, share, and connect with folks from across the spectrum of industry, including business and community leaders and entrepreneurs, in a space that's built by and for us.

Join us for the next Black & Brown Connect Mixer where we are preparing to discuss the topic of community housing, from a broad historical perspective to what’s going on right now. We will hear from our host, Elizabeth Washington from the Northside Association for Community Development (NACD), who will talk about redlining’s impact and the many ways it is still being felt today.

We’ll also hear from multiple panelists from developers, City and County leaders, and local industry experts about how our community is attempting to address housing challenges at every level, including what’s working, what’s missing, and what’s next. Come out, join the conversation, and bring a friend or colleague.

No matter what field you’re in, you can count on engaging and relevant discussion, leadership, and other personal development opportunities, hearing from community leaders and mentors, and leaving energized. We look forward to seeing you at the next B&B Connect!

Drinks, food, and music start at 4:30 p.m.

About the Black & Brown Connect

Developed with professionals and career-minded folks of color in mind, the Black & Brown Connect is a place to gain connections and build relationships right here in our community—ones you can use to build on your success in a psychologically safe space. This is a time like no other, particularly for Black and Brown folks. Perhaps you are leading a team as the only person of color. Perhaps you are looking for ways to engage in a more culturally competent and relevant space with folks who can relate to many of your experiences in the workplace. Or, perhaps you are looking to unleash your inner entrepreneur and want to start or scale your business to the next level but could use a boost in the connections department. No matter your station, this mixer is a great place to dig in and create an impact for yourself and our communities.
