About this event

  • 1 hour

Originally designed by the famous American architect Richard Morris Hunt for divorced playboy and horse lover Oliver Hazard Perry Belmont, the house went through a metamorphosis after he gave the place to his second wife, the former Alva Vanderbilt!

See the careful restoration by the current owner, jewelry designer Carolyn Rafaelian, and marvel at the 13th century stained glass up in our ballroom!

The guided tours are approximately 45-55 minutes in length and explore the rich history and restoration efforts of one of the most fascinating mansions in Newport.
