About this event

For Ages 9 to 11 – Through the process of art making, students will learn about various cultural uses and the significance of flowers in contemporary art and life. Students will learn about dyeing with hibiscus, chrysanthemums as food, offerings at shrines in Indonesia, and Hawaiian Leis as gifts. Some projects will include tie dye using hibiscus, flower paintings inspired by Takeshi Murakami’s daisies, creating unique Hawaiian Leis, and many more beautiful and thoughtful applications of art with flowers. Students will look to the art of Azuma Makoto, Takeshi Murakami, and Lily Vanderstocker for inspiration. All supplies are provided and included in the price of the class.

  • $375/Student (tuition covers all meetings)
