About The Amours
The Amours sing, perform, and captivate with an endless amount of ardor. The Washington, D.C. sister duo of Jakiya Ayanna and Shaina Aisha immediately enchant every time they step up to a microphone together. In 2017, the sisters caught the attention of artist and producer PJ Morton after adding harmony to a cover he posted online. As a result they spent two and a half years on the road sharing the stage with PJ, bringing them a visibility that they were not expecting. Indeed, shows after shows the girls have been building a strong fanbase. The Amours also performed on the GRAMMY® Award-winning Gumbo Unplugged album. Simultaneously, they honed a heartfelt and hypnotic sound of their own equally “tasteful, soulful, and authentic.”
Last year the duet was invited to perform on big stages, first in March at Black Girls Rock festival in Washington, DC at The Kennedy Center and in the spring at Mary J Blige's Festival "Strength of a Woman Fest" and featured on Juvenile's "Tiny Desk" performance. Changes, their new EP is set to release in February 2024 and we have planned a 10 city tour in March (Please enclosed) and their fans have been asking about Chicago a lot since we released the visual for the Tour.
