For the past 25 years, around dusk on warm Saturday summer evenings, adventurous people of all ages came  bedecked with lawn chairs, rubber boats, sofas, costumes and fun attire to join in this zany Fremont pastime.25 years later, the Fremont Outdoor Cinema has moved to South Lake Union and remains Seattle's most celebrated community-spirited big screen celebration of pop classics, cult favorites, independent film, video shorts and high camp old fashioned summer fun.Co-founded by Jon Hegeman and Charlotte Buchanan, the movies are a cross between old-time matinees, cinema paradiso and the vanishing All-American drive-in. Today, it is still family-owned and operated by Jon's son Ryan Reiter as a family tradition for all of seattle to enjoy under the stars!Here too, the audience is often the best part of the show. It’s the original interactive theater where people are actually encouraged to join in the atmosphere of irreverent humor and laid back good times.

Luc Besson's sci-fi classic is back on the big screen this summer in beautiful HD! Seattle's original outdoor cinema is celebrating our 25th anniversary on the massive grass lawn at the South Lake Union Discovery Center!
Our 2017 summer series is proudly presented by <A HREF="https://alaskanbeer.com/" TARGET="_blank" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Alaskan Brewing Co.</A> this summer and the fun continues with a live wedding contest on Saturday, July 15th with THE 5TH ELEMENT in conjunction with the Seattle Street Food Festival on the same day.

Every beer goes to help a local non-profit charity and always remember to bring your I.D. is required.
All screenings are 21+ only and help to support participating local charities.
ARRIVE EARLY
Due to the popularity of the return of our summer series, make sure you plan ahead. The doors open at 6pm and no one is promised entry, as we will expect this screening to reach capacity. More details announced on June 15th.
Want guaranteed seating? Buy a season pass for only $25 for single person and $35 for two people and incudes all screenings and Dude Fest.

What Time WIll the Movie Actually Start?
Great question! Due to it being July, we expect this screening to start offcially at 9:15pm and every week they will begin about 10-15 minutes earlier. We do our best to show as early as possible, but must wait for it to get dark enough. Thanks!

FAQs
What can I bring into the event?
We allow food and non-alcoholic beverages are allowed. Keep in mind we have rotational food trucks and a charoity beer garden serving local craft brews. We do have a strict cooler check-point in effect.  
What's the refund policy?
Generally speaking pre-sales are non-refundable, due to rentals and operating costs already paid in advance. We will do our best to rescreen, but in the event that we can not, we will provide you a credit for another screening good for this year or 2018.
Full refunds are for when we cancel a screening prior beyond weather.
