During his life and throughout his ministry, Rev. Taylor labored tirelessly to dismantle institutional racism in the corporate world, and in the church.
In honor of his dedication and service, the Pittsburgh District Antiracism Team (Pittsburgh ART) is establishing the Rev. Paul D. Taylor Anti-Racism Award.
This award will be presented annually in Paul’s memory.
The first recipient of this esteemed award is Tracy Merrick.
Pittsburgh ART believed Merrick to be an ideal candidate for this inaugural event due to:
1. The volunteer service he has provided for over 40 years to the United Methodist Church (UMC)
2. His involvement in meaningful efforts to combat systemic racism throughout the General Church, WPA Conference, and the Pittsburgh District
3. His tenacious drive to be an agent of change and reconciliation.
Join us as we celebrate Pastor Paul's legacy, and Tracy's well deserved recognition!
Registration will be open from Thursday, April 20, 2023 until Wednesday May 10, 2023.
