About this event
The 14th Annual Bald Eagle Bash–the Alabama Gulf Coast’s Party for Preservation–is Saturday, April 27, 2024, 4-7pm at the Weeks Bay Reserve Tonsmeire Resource Center. This signature annual fundraiser for SALT has earned a reputation for delivering great food, great music, and a great time, all on the edges of beautiful Weeks Bay.
Your ticket will include all you can eat samples at each booth and four drink tickets for beer or wine. Drink tickets are attached to your wristband which you will receive at check-in.
The “Bash” includes fresh Gulf shrimp prepared by the area’s best chefs and restaurants, a low country shrimp boil, delectable desserts by area bakers, a couple non-shrimp options, beer from Fairhope Brewing Company and Braided River Brewing Company and a great selection of wine.
NEW this year, a silent auction! Bid on over a dozen items and convince your friends to, too! So far we have:
- A falconry experience.
- A vintage guitar.
- Family-friendly fishing and nature tour.
- Perch Creek kayak or canoe tour.
- One week of GULF camp in Gulf Shores.
- Half-day tour in lower Mobile-Tensaw Delta for two.
- Participate in two wood duck box installations in the Mobile-Tensaw Delta.
- Oyster and beer pairing for 5 couples at a SALT-owned property.
- A kayak safety kit: PFD, SALT dry bag, and SALT whistle.

Yes. Most folks do, but there will be some seating available under the main tent.
Yes, but the main food feauture of the event is fresh Gulf shrimp. There will be a one chicken and one vegetarian option and two dessert vendors. Remember everything is sample-sized- so visit each booth!
Yes! Osprey Initiative will be on site recycling. We will provide an aluminum beer cup (please use more than once before recycling). Wine glasses will be re-usable as well. Most all serve ware is compostable. Water and sodas are in aluminum cans. Keep an eye out for recycling bins.
There will be parking at the South Alabama Land Trust (SALT) office, 11401 US Hwy 98, where shuttle bases will take you to and from the event site. When you park at the SALT office, volunteers there will give you your armband and take your ticket, which will speed things up for you at the gate.
There is a $10 roundtrip shuttle bus leaving Braided River Brewing Co. on St. Louis Street promptly at 3:10pm and leaving the event by 7:15pm to return by 8pm. Please purchase shuttle trip in advance in the "add-ons" section. There is a bathroom on the bus.
Yes. The event is, however, we don't promote this as a children's event since there is alcohol and an open body of water nearby. Children under 10 years of age are free.
