So, what is The Moving Message?
It is a 1- mile walk/ride/roll to raise awareness about communication challenges after stroke and brain injury. There will be speeches, music, free food, raffles, vendors, artists, merchandise for sale, and lots of celebration!
Why do we do it?
The Moving Message Fund was developed due to a rising need in the community. Many individuals who have survived brain injury, stroke and other neurologic events are left with a long-term need for speech-language therapy and/or supportive adaptive equipment. Often an individual’s primary medical insurance covers short-term services, such as therapy, but is not sufficient to cover the care that is needed over time. Consequently, the TBI Waiver and Neuro Services Program, in partnership with community stakeholders, has established this fund to support those individuals. All proceeds from today’s event go to The Moving Message Fund.
