TFA DISTINCTIVE DWELLINGS

Artisan House (The Myer House) in Kendall-Whittier
Sunday, July 21, 2024

$15 | $11.25 | First Entry at 1:00

Tulsa boasts a wide variety of residential architecture from the late 1800s through today. From midcentury modern, craftsman bungalows and colonial revival to contemporary mansions, there is an abundance of interesting homes throughout the city. The goal of TFA’s newest residential-focused program, Distinctive Dwellings, is to give those who love architecture an opportunity to see behind the doors of Tulsa’s most distinctive residences through self-guided exploration. Each guest will received a brochure with historic information about the property and have the opportunity to explore the home at their own pace.

This Distinctive Dwellings open house features Artisan House (The Myer House).

Originally built in 1914 for John Henry Myer, Founder of the Tulsa Planning Mill Company, the Myer house an excellent example of what a successful businessman of the era would build for his family. This expansive 6-bedroom red brick Prairie Style house was one of the first homes built in Northwest Kendall-Whittier neighborhood. This home is also featured in John Brooks Walton's book, "Many More Historic Tulsa Homes."

Today, the Myer house is being transformed into “Artisan House”, a shared housing concept for artists and creatives under the management of visionary developers GuRuStu Communities.

Join us on July 21st to tour this one-of-a-kind home and learn more about its history and what’s in store for its future!
