About the Texas Adopt-A-Beach Program:

Texas Adopt-A-Beach is an all-volunteer beach cleanup program dedicated to keeping Texas beaches clean, and educating our communities about the detrimental effects of marine debris on people and our environment. Since our first cleanup in 1986, more than 580,623 Texas Adopt-A-Beach volunteers have picked up more than 9,900 tons of trash from Texas beaches.

Thank you for helping Texas beaches!

Frequently asked questions

What if it is raining on the day of the cleanup?

Adopt-A-Beach cleanups are held rain or shine. However, if threatening weather endangers the safety of our volunteers, or a site becomes inaccessible, that particular site may be canceled. Pre-registered volunteers for that will be notified by email or phone if their site is canceled.

Will there be any food?

Some sites provide food for the volunteers. To find out if your preferred site will provide food, contact the local site coordinator directly. Their information is listed on the EventBrite registration page and the confirmation email you receive after you register.

Do I need to bring my own supplies?

Adopt-A-Beach will provide trash bags and non-latex gloves to clean the beach, plus other gifts from Adopt-A-Beach. Consider bringing your own work gloves or trash pickers if you have them. Also, please remember to bring plenty of drinking water, especially if children will be with you.
