Some of the stories are adult content. We would recommend no kids under 16.

Will there be an intermission

We usually have an intermission between the 4th and 5th storyteller.

About this event

The holidays are a highly charged time of the year. Some of us love the holidays, some of us avoid them. For some they are a time of joy, and for others they are a time to hide. The stories we have for our first December show are about the holidays and what they mean to us.

Are the stories specific to Christmas? No, they aren't. We have a Halloween story, we have a story breaking bread with a new neighbor, we have a story about the joy of mirroring a holiday that a storyteller's father took decades earlier.

The road to the holidays is a bumpy road. Sometimes the bumps are fun and make us laugh, and sometimes they are potholes that attempt to swallow us whole. So far, we've managed to survive the holidays, and it appears you have too. We hope you'll join us for our last show of the year.

Doors open around 7:00 pm. This is a general admission show, arrive early to assure you have a seat.

Testify

Testify is a monthly storytelling show, now in its 9th year, taking place on the2nd Wednesday of the month. Normally our shows are held at the Spiderhouse Ballroom. To date, Testify has brought over 215 storytellers and 386 stories to the stage.

Anchored in the belief that everyone has a story, the storytellers range from professional performers to people standing on a stage for the first time in their lives. Each month has a different theme, and five stories are selected that each reflect different aspects of that theme, connecting the stories and tellers in sometimes surprising ways.
