About this event

  • 1 hour 30 minutes

We are living in chronically high stress times with limited access to resources and fewer options for self-care. TRE® is a safe and accessible way to help your body relieve stress and tension.

TRE® is a series of exercises that assist the body in releasing deep muscular patterns of stress, tension and trauma. TRE® safely activates the natural reflex mechanism of shaking or vibrating that releases muscular tension, calming down the nervous system.

Some of the benefits that you may experience by practicing TRE® are:

  • decreased anxiety
  • release of chronic tension
  • improved sleep, mood & digestion
  • decreased aches and pains
  • improved flexibility
  • decreased symptoms of sciatica, fibromyalgia and other chronic conditions

In this workshop you will be taught the TRE® exercises and brought through a tremor session with a group. After this workshop you will be able to continue with TRE® on your own or you may inquire about individual TRE® sessions.

Objectives:

  • Participants will be introduced to the Tension/Trauma Releasing Exercise (TRE) process
  • Participants will be able to complete the Trauma Release Exercises and be brought through a tremor session
  • Participants will have a brief introduction to the psoas muscle and its role in stress and trauma
  • Participants will have a brief introduction to the role of neurogenic tremors in the body

Please note that this is an experiential workshop open to everyone. However, if you are a therapist and want CEUs, you are welcome to purchase the CEU add-on for 1.5 CEU credits.

About the presenter:

Jennifer L. Rolnick, Psy.D. is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist and co-owner of Watch Hill Therapy, a trauma specialty practice in downtown Chicago. Jennifer's passion and specialty is working with child and adult survivors of trauma, abuse, and neglect. When traumas occur within the context of a relationship, those traumas need to be healed within a safe and trusting relationship. Jennifer values the power of connection and community to help heal even the deepest of wounds. It’s through compassion, companionship, and attunement that Jennifer hopes to help others feel empowered and give voice to stories and experiences that have been pervasively silenced. Her goal is to be a source of safety and connection for her clients so they can heal trauma in mind and body.

Jennifer also provides professional consultation, mentorship and training for therapists and organizations wanting to deepen their skills and expertise in providing excellent care for trauma survivors. She intuitively guides both clients and therapists along the journey of healing from trauma.
