Please join us on Friday, July 9, for a telephonic press briefing with U.S. Navy Captain Stuart Bauman, U.S. Navy Commander John D. John, and U.S. Marine Corps LtCol Mastin Robeson. The three officers will discuss the conclusion of this summer’s multinational naval exercise SEA BREEZE 2021 in the Black Sea. They will take questions from participating journalists.

BIOS:

Captain Stuart Bauman assumed his current command in September 2020. As a mobilized reservist, he was assigned as the Deputy Commander of Joint Special Operations Task Force – Somalia through June 2020. He was the Liaison to Commander Task Force Eighty-Four starting in December 2018, until his mobilization to Combined Joint Task Force – Horn of Africa in October 2019.

He previously served as the Acting Commanding Officer of the Submarine Force U.S. Pacific Fleet Undersea Warfare Operations, Detachment Indianapolis, as well as the Commanding Officer of the Submarine Force U.S. Atlantic Fleet Undersea Warfare Operations, Detachment Pittsburgh from 2016 through 2018. In 2012, he served as the Mobilization Readiness Officer, Operations Officer, and the Executive Officer Commander, Navy Forces Africa, Detachment 413.

Commander John D. John was commissioned an Ensign in the U.S. Navy in October 2001. At sea, Commander John served as Deck Officer in USS KLAKRING (FFG 42) where he deployed to Latin America in support of Counter-Narcotics Operations and to the Eastern Mediterranean in support of the Global War on Terrorism. He also served as Fire Support Coordinator in 3rd Battalion, 12th Marines and 1st Company Commander, RIVERINE SQUADRON ONE where he deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2007. As a Department Head, he served as Weapons and Combat Systems Officer in USS HUE CITY (CG 66) and completed 3 Arabian Gulf Deployments with CARRIER STRIKE GROUP 8. His full bio can be found here.

LtCol Mastin Robeson, Jr. has been the commander of the 1st Battalion, 6th Marine Regiment based in Camp LeJeune since October 2020. Previously, he was assigned as the AC/S J3 for Task Force Southwest rotation 5 and deployed to Helmand Province, Afghanistan.

Commissioned into the U.S. Marines in 2003, LtCol Robeson has served multiple tours of duty in Afghanistan and Iraq. In July 2017, he attended and graduated from the Marine Corps Command and Staff College with a Masters in Military Studies.
