Ours will be hosted from the coolest virtual Vail hotspots. Join us, we want to hear what you have to say. Our interactive, online safe space allows you to be heard and hear others. He&#x27;s created the critically acclaimed television comedy The Good Place, and co-created Parks and Recreation, Brooklyn Nine-Nine and the Peacock series Rutherford Falls. He is also an executive producer on the HBOMax show Hacks and Netflix&#x27;s Master of None. Previously, he spent four years as a writer-producer on the Emmy Award-winning series The Office. His first TV writing job was at Saturday Night Live. Schur is the author of the New York Times-bestselling book How to Be Perfect: The Correct Answer to Every Moral Question. He&#x27;ll charm us with his thought-provoking abbreviated guide to living an ethical life that draws on 2,400 years of deep thinking from around the world. Is humanity smart enough to survive itself? He is currently CEO and product architect at 410 Labs, maker of the popular e-mail management tools Mailstrom.co/ and Chuck. The founding team at Twitter recognizes Dave as the first developer to utilize the Twitter API, with his project “Twittervision,” which was featured in the 2008 MoMA exhibition “Design and the Elastic Mind,” curated by Paola Antonelli. His current projects use social network data to map cities and analyze disinformation campaigns. Dave organizes TEDxMidAtlantic in Washington, DC, and lives in Baltimore. He&#x27;ll be joining us in real-time in our cool Vail virtual hotspots.Session 2: How might &quot;dilemma thinking&quot; transform arguments into action? How might we have better conversations? He&#x27;ll share his short, powerful piece from the heart, about finding the courage to speak up against ignorance and injustice.Session 3: Ayana Elizabeth Johnson is a marine biologist, climate policy expert, and co-founder of the nonprofit think tank Urban Ocean Lab. Ayana Elizabeth Johnson co-edited the bestselling anthology All We Can Save and co-founded The All We Can Save Project, to nurture a leaderful climate community. Her think tank Urban Ocean Lab creates ocean-climate policy for the future of coastal cities. She also co-created and co-hosted Spotify&#x27;s flagship climate podcast How to Save a Planet. Johnson publishes widely The New York Times, The Washington Post, and Scientific American. She was named one of the TIME 100 leaders for 2021, and one of Elle&#x27;s 27 Women Leading on Climate. We&#x27;ll consider fish farming in a freshly animated way. The ocean&#x27;s ingenious climate solutions: The ocean is often thought of as a victim of climate change, and in need of human protection. But ocean expert Susan Ruffo says that mindset needs to shift. From storing carbon to providing protection to coastal communities, Ruffo highlights the ocean&#x27;s ready-made solutions to the climate crisis and asks: With more than eighty percent of the ocean still unexplored, what new solutions are waiting to be discovered? Conservationist and former diplomat, Susan Ruffo, senior advisor for Ocean and Climate at United Nations Foundation, guides through this thought Xperiment. Why you should listen: Susan Ruffo is drawn to anything that involves the still mysterious but critical life support system we call the ocean. She began her career as a United States diplomat, working in Nigeria, Argentina, China and at home in the US with Tribal Nations. This experience taught her to approach the world with an open and inquisitive mind, and to seek common ground rather than exploit differences. She later worked as a conservationist and ocean advocate, first at The Nature Conservancy and then at the White House Council on Environmental Quality, Bloomberg Philanthropies, Ocean Conservancy, and the United Nations Foundation. Ruffo&#x27;s work aims to bring people together to protect the ocean. This has included responding to climate change, helping to make coastal communities more resilient to climate impacts and other shocks, and making life a little better for informal waste workers who are on the front lines of keeping plastic out of the ocean. The critical common thread is bringing diverse communities together, to understand their needs and build solutions that address them and make the most of their experience and knowledge.
