Frequently asked questions

Will there be live talks at this event?

No, this event will feature videos from the TED conference taking place in Vancouver this month. This is a unique opportunity to see some of the worlds leading thinkers and entertainers without having to leave Bloomington before the rest of the world will have access to them through the TED website.

Is this event suitable for children?

The TED conference is generally geared toward adults. As such the types of talks we'll be livestreaming at our event will be geared toward adults. That being said, we'll do our best to avoid talks with content or language that may be unsuitable for children.

What's the difference between TEDxBloomington and TEDxBloomingtonLIVE

Both TEDxBloomington and TEDxBloomingtonLIVE are organized by the same local and independent TEDx organizing group. Our TEDxBloomington events feature live talks whereas TEDxBloomingtonLIVE will feature livestreamed talks from the TED conference in Vancouver before they are shared with world.

When is the next TEDxBloomington event?

We don't have a date set for our next event featuring live talks, but we're working on it! If you are interested in helping to plan or interested in providing funds to help support our next event, please contact jennifer@tedxbloomington.org.

Is there a fee to attend?

Nope, this event is free of charge!

Will there be an online viewing option for this event?

Unfortunately, we're not able to provide an online viewing option for this event.

Organized by

Hoosier Women in Tech (HooWiT) is a program of the Humanetrix Foundation, Inc., a Bloomington-based nonprofit seeking to mobilize Midwest technologists to improve themselves and their communities. The HooWiT monthly forums aim to encourage women working in local tech companies to network with each other, STEM-focused higher education students to learn about tech careers from local women in tech, and tech companies to be able to meet prospective job candidates who may have skills needed in their companies.
