Celebrating Data Privacy Day!!!About BHR in Tech (BiT)BHR in Tech policy briefs by TIOF are proposed as technical documents to assist the government and tech companies in Malaysia regarding the implementation of the National Action Plan for Business and Human Rights (BHR) specific to the Tech sector.The briefs combine legal and technical approaches in respecting and protecting users&#x27; privacy, a fundamental human right under Article 12 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR).TIOF identifies technologists as the next generation of human rights defenders. Dealing with human rights in digital spaces requires solutions that are rooted in discerning the differences between the digital and the analog. In our analysis, the key that unlocks the understanding of digital spaces is data.By analyzing the steps involved in the processing of data, the human right to Privacy must be protected by design from end-to-end. BHR in Tech looks at the data flow throughout business processes, which involve data inventory and mapping, without diminishing any value to the necessary data collection that informs business decisions.<h3>What is TechUp?</h3><a href="https://TheIOFOundation.org/TechUp" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">TechUp</a> is a convergence program between social tech capacity building and tech solution development for Civil Society. It aims at bridging the local tech scene with local NGOs with the objective of nurturing a Social Tech society that is conducive to the observance of Digital Rights.
