Welcome to the new Tech Ridge Tech Lunch. Every month on the First Friday we will still have food and we will still have a special guest but we are dumping the classroom and the stuffy chairs for a "reception" style event where smart people come to meet other smart people and make friends.
Our special guest will be John Candido, managing partner at Nuovo Advisors and co-founder of Davanti. We will start with an introduction to our sponsor, then move to John for 10 minutes of intro and Q&A, and then on to the intros. We will have everyone in the building give a quick intro of themselves and then spend the rest of the hour talking and visiting with one another.
About John
John is the Managing Partner of Nuovo Advisors and Co-Founder of Davanti.
Notable industry achievements include:
- A client list including PayPal, UPS, Honey, Clicklease and Tala
- Leading strategic partnerships such as the public announcement between Visa, Circle, Stellar and Tala
- Serving as Head of Data Science & Modeling at ZestFinance, where he led, managed and built teams of 20+ for over seven years
- Leading on all of the startup’s major products and partnerships, most notably with companies such as JD.com, Baidu, Ford Motor Credit, Discover and Synchrony
- Speaking on multiple industry panels such as Lendit Fintech, American Banker’s BankAI and the Marketplace Lending Summit as a subject matter expert on machine learning for credit executive
- Achieving the level of Competitions Master from the Google owned company Kaggle, for his stellar and consistent performance in real world machine learning competitions
John has an education in both finance and psychology research, holding a Bachelor’s degree from Hofstra University and a Master’s Degree in Psychology from Chapman University
