Come hear from Industry Professionals about Life in the Tech Sector. Note: Open to all CUNY Students to attend. Valid CUNY ID needed during Check in. Food will be served, along with Soylent. And free Swag. Free LinkedIn Headshots as well.

Please note: For the LinkedIn headshots, first 40 people to sign in onsite will be considered in order of arrival.
 
Speakers: 
Abdul Rahman: An alumni of Queens College, Abdul studied Finance and Economics. He is the co-founder of FixMe, Abdul currently works as the Senior Hedge Fund Analyst at BNY Mellon. 
Christian Sakhai: NodeJS Fullstack Web Developer, Queens College Computer Science Graduate student.
Hooria Harmain: After earning her bachelor's degree in Computer Science and Mathematics from Queens College, Hooria went on to become a software engineer at JPMorgan Chase &amp; Co.
Cristian Vergara: Cris Vergara's first job was repairing computers at an internet cafe at the age of 12. In the intervening years, he has worked in numerous industries in various roles. His expertise is in eCommerce, and he is currently the Director of Engineering at Book of the Month.
Mofizur Rahman: Mofizur was a student of City College of New York, where he finished his Bachelors degree in Computer Engineering in 2017. He then joined IBM Watson Health Cloud in August of 2017. Day to day he works work with Java creating enterprise solutions for Watson Health Cloud Clients. His work area includes Bigdata Hadoop, DB2 databases, Scale-able and robust JavaEE Rest API building. In his free time he likes to spend time in learning new technologies and read books. His current backlog of things to learn and tinker with includes Go, Rust, Docker, React-Native, Scala etc. His likes solving puzzles and learning about new things.
Philip Parzygnat: Philip Parzygnat holds a BA and MA in Computer Science (2007, 2017). Phil is a Queens College alumni. He has over a decade of experience with technology that started with DIY electronics along with legacy operating systems dating back to DOS 5.0 and Windows 3.1. In his career, he spent time as a technician, administrator, webmaster, and developer. Currently, Phil works for Cyber NY interactive where he is responsible for systems and backend development using a standard LAMP Stack. Phil also manages a collection of websites for Sustainable CUNY. Phil has taugh elementary courses at York College and spends his free time writing creatively. Beyond technology, he is interested in art, philosophy and mathematics.
