This Hackathon is a virtual event where participants form teams, vet ideas, create a project and then present their work for cash prizes!

<h2>WHAT</h2><p>The <strong>Tech Hub Hackathon</strong> is a <em>virtual</em>  weekend event where participants form teams, vet ideas, create a project, and then present their work to an expert panel of judges. Winners walk away with a combination of cash and in-kind prizes!</p><ul><li>First Place: $3500</li><li>Second Place: $1500</li><li>Third Place: $1000</li></ul><p>This year there will <strong>also be a virtual career fair</strong> showcasing some of South Florida's top hiring companies in an effort to connect and find job placement for our talented hackathon attendees looking for the next opportunity. </p><p></p><h2>WHEN</h2><ul><li><strong>Kickoff &amp; Team Forming</strong> | Friday, November 5th (5:30 - 8:30 PM)</li></ul><ul><li><strong>Hacking Begins</strong> | Saturday, November 6th (8:00 AM - 6:00 PM)</li></ul><ul><li><strong>Presentations, Judging &amp; Awards</strong> | Sunday, November 7th (8:00 AM - 3:00 PM)</li></ul><h2></h2><h2>WHERE</h2><p>Due to COVID-19, this year's Hackathon will be held completely virtual. We will be using the Remo platform for the main event, Premier Virtual for the career fair, and additional platforms such as Slack and Zoom for additional communication. </p><p>There will be "HOST SITES" across the South Florida region who are opening their doors to our hackathon attendees giving you a comfy space to work with your teams. Oh, and pizza will be ordered in for you on Saturday!</p><p>Our Host Sites confirmed are:</p><ul><li>CIC (Miami)</li><li>Boca Code (Boca Raton)</li><li>1909 (West Palm Beach)</li></ul><h2></h2><h2>WHY</h2><p>Our theme this year is <strong>'Hack for Inclusion'</strong> with each project addressing issues of bias, diversity, accessibility and overall inclusion. Over the weekend, diverse teams will collaborate to build a solution to combat DE&amp;I struggles within an organization and/or municipality.</p><p></p><h2>WHO</h2><p>Teams will consist of developers, designers, project managers and entrepreneurs, with successful teams having a mix of these areas of expertise. From newly graduated tech students to senior tech leadership - everyone in invited!</p><p>Although we are a South Florida organization, we invite folks from all across the state and even in other areas of the country to join in. Please note that in order to win and take home the prize money, you must reside in the United States. </p><p><strong>ASL interpretation is included</strong> to ensure we are being as inclusive as possible. </p><p></p><h2>HOW</h2><ul><li><strong>Register as an attendee </strong>- You can register as a team or as an individual. Teams can be made up of up to 6 people (minimum of 2ppl). The most successful teams are made up of a mix of developers, designers, project managers, and entrepreneurs, but you can have whatever mix you like. If you are an individual without a team, we ca help you find a team. You will be added to the Hackathon Slack group in which you can recruit/request to join teams.</li><li><strong>Create Your Solution</strong> - Friday will be the Kickoff and Saturday the hacking officially begins at 8:00 AM.  The provided platform will close at 6:00 PM, but teams can communicate via their own forms of communication at any time throughout the night. </li><li><strong>Project Submissions</strong> - Projects must be submitted by 9:00 AM on Sunday. All team members should be logged in and ready to present slides, video, etc. to judges by 10:00 AM. Family and friends are invited to view presentations and give their favorite hackers support by joining us with a separate ticket link.</li><li><strong>Winners Announced!</strong> - The judges will choose the winners with 1st, 2nd and 3rd places and announced around 3:00 PM.
