Team RIVER Volunteers

Randall's Island Park Alliance welcomes individuals to join us for a volunteer event and serve the community. Every Wednesday RIPA hosts volunteers to work with one of our teams in various areas of the park.

Our Natural Areas Team, Horticultural Team, Operations and Ballfields all benefit from our Team RIVER Volunteers. Typical duties include, the removal of invasive plant species (weeding), marine plastics removal (trash pickup), public access enhancements (trail maintainence and mulching), tree care, planting and a host of other duties as needed to support the park.

Randall’s Island Park Alliance offers individuals from the community two opportunities to volunteers weekly from Mid-March through Early. Sundays on our Urban Farm and Wednesdays with Team RIVER. We also offer other chances to serve your community. Please check our Events Page to lean about other volunteer opportunities.

This event is for individuals from the community and there are a limited number of spaces Groups or Families with more than 5 volunteers must first contact us at Volunteers@RandallsIsland.org before signing up.

There are age restrictions on most of these opportunities so please read the specifics for each event on the Volunteer Page at RandallsIsland.org before signing up. Youth ages 16 and 17 may volunteer without an adult if they bring a signed waiver (reply to volunteers@RandallsIsland.org to request a waiver) and those younger than 16 years old must be accompanied by an adult.

Drinking water, snacks, gloves, and tools will be available.
