Nonsuicidal Self-Injury (NSSI) Assessment & Treatment
presented by: Susan Mengden, PhD, CGP, CEDS-C - Executive Director

This training will present the DSM-5 diagnostic criteria for Nonsuicidal Self-Injury Disorder, will clarify the definition,and review the complexities of self-injurious behaviors including prevalence rates, lifetime occurrences, and their connection to suicide. We will discuss treatment philosophies and evidence-based approaches for NSSI.

Objectives:

•Learn and Discuss the Definition of Nonsuicidal Self-Injury (NSSI).

•Learn the DSM 5 diagnostic criteria for Nonsuicidal Self-Injury Disorder.

•Learn the complexities of self-injurious behaviors including prevalence rates, lifetime occurrences and relationship with suicide.

•Learn the treatment philosophies and the evidence-based treatment approaches for NSSI.
