True Costs Initiative is committed to supporting the work of scientists and legal advocates who are utilizing their knowledge to help protect human and environmental rights. Through our Fellowship Program we partner with public interest and non-profit organizations in the environmental and human rights space who host, guide, train and support our talented Fellows. We are particularly proud of these lawyers and scientists of color, many of whom are based in the Global South. With our support they have the opportunity to share their expertise, gain invaluable experience and access effective mentorship as they advance environmental justice and the protection of human rights.
The theme of Pollution Externalities & Community Realities reflects the work of our Fellows at the intersections of protecting communities from polluting extractive projects; the inequitable impact of climate change; the policy implications of greenhouse gas reduction metrics; and the externalities communities are forced to absorb as the true costs of polluted environments.
This event is free to all and a recording will be available for anyone unable to attend.
Please note: The TCI Fellows-only portion is not open to all attendees. Please direct any questions to Vashti Williams at vashti@truecostsinitiative.org.
