‘Tasha is a one woman play by Cat Brooks and directed by Dr Ayodele Nizinga about the in custody murder of Natasha McKenna in 2015

<p>N﻿ine Characters. One Hour. This one woman play is loosely based on the in-custody murder of Natasha McKenna in the Fairfax County Jail in 2015. Cat Brooks walks us through the events of that time through the seamless portrayal of Natasha, her mother, the activist and even the cops that killed her. Throughout the piece are snippets of 'Tashas murder to ground us in the fact that this is more than a play. This happened. This happens every day. Due to the intense nature of the performance, there will be Healing Justice practitioners in the lobby. Each performance will be followed by a brief talk back. This performance is part of Cat Brooks' mini UC Berkeley artistic residency.</p>
