Tanner Simon’s paintings may seem playful and innocuous, maybe even naïve or silly. But when we examine the subject matter more thoughtfully and consider the message within the context, they become subtle excoriations of contemporary culture and lay bare the hypocrisies within the power dynamics of capitalist society. Remarkably, they do this while maintaining their innocence and sweetness in such a way that one cannot help but fall in love with the work and with the artist himself.Sixstar Art Studios is proud to present an exhibition of Tanner Simon’s recent work in The Black Box Gallery June 7- July 8th. All ticket holders will receive a limited-edition gift tote that includes a hand-made original soft sculpture by Tanner.
