Traditionally, weaving circles are sacred gatherings of connection creativity and community.

They have been formed by groups of women in what I call traditional cultures and societies. These circles serve as spaces not only for creating textiles—often woven for livelihood—but also for ceremonies such as rites of passage for young girls transitioning into womanhood.

More than just a craft weaving circles are spaces where women come together to teach learn and share stories fostering a deep sense of belonging and mutual support.

In this space we weave not only fibers but also the threads of our experiences. We celebrate the tapestry of life that connects us all.

With open hearts and open minds let us honor the power of community engage the creative spirit within us and partake in an auspicious expression of self through the art of weaving.

Together we will create something beautiful meaningful and reflective of our shared journey.

  • All materials and light refreshments provided
  • Donation-based event—give as you feel called
  • No experience necessary—simply show up!
  • All are welcome though this gathering is best suited for young adults and adults
  • Only 15 looms available—arrive early to settle in and claim your spot
  • Time: 2:00 PM – 3:30 PM
  • Location: Gulf Orchids Gulfport
  • Parking: Limited parking in front of store. For ease, parking is available on side streets.

Whether you're a seasoned weaver or a curious beginner, this gathering is perfect for anyone looking to connect with like-minded individuals and explore the art of weaving. Bring your own materials or use ours - all are welcome! Let's share stories, teach and learn from each other, and create beautiful woven pieces together. Don't miss out on this opportunity to relax, create, and connect.

Please note, this is not a weaving class. You will be shown basic weaving stitches so feel comfortable participating in the circle. Producing completed artifacts is not the focus or goal. This is an experience intended to foster a sense of connection, creativity, and community. The atmosphere is designed to be both fun and relaxing! Come prepared to let your hair down and let your creativity flag fly!
