Description

Join TAP-NY and Hong Ngo, Ph.D., for an evening of mindfulness meditation. Whether you're a beginner or an expert meditator seeking to enhance your experience, this workshop teaches awareness to the present moment and encourages curiosity to help promote relaxation, cultivate personal growth, and reduce stress in a gentle, relaxed, and nonjudgmental environment.

This workshop will include some background and introduction on the science and evidence base for mindfulness meditation, types of approaches common in Western-based practices, as well as two guided meditation sessions and a closing discussion.

Note: Essential oils may be used as part of the meditation exercises, albeit contingent on the audience's preferences and comfort levels.

All equipment, including chairs, yoga mats, and blankets, will be provided. Dress comfortably. All levels welcome.

About Hong:

Hong Ngo, Ph.D., is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist and New Yorker who enjoys international travel, eating, meditation/yoga, playing squash, and learning new languages in her spare time. She currently has a faculty appointment at Columbia University Medical Center.
