Tangelo is a monthly reading series that takes place at The Martin!Join us in January for the first Tangelo of the year and the 23rd in the series.The January Tangelo readers will be:<ul><li>Sue Burke</li><li>Emma Casey </li><li>Jitesh Jaggi</li><li>Levi Todd</li></ul>Emma Casey is a writer and performer and maker from Chicago. She has performed poems at the Fly Honey Show, Salonathon, and many other variety shows around the city and devised site-specific shows with the ShowParty! ensemble. Her poetry/collage zines can be found at Quimby&#x27;s, and her essays can be found in Scout and Birdie&#x27;s online lit magazine. Emma is currently collaborating on a show to be debuted at Rhinofest this winter!Levi Todd is a queer poet and lifelong Chicagoan, working as a healthy relationships educator with youth. Levi’s work is published or forthcoming in Pinwheel, The Shallow Ends, Cosmonauts Avenue, and elsewhere. Read more of their work at www.levitodd.com, and tell them your favorite Carly Rae Jepsen song.Sue Burke is the author of the science fiction novel “Semiosis,” and its sequel “Interference.” The novel’s hero is a huge talking plant that will do anything to protect its beloved humans. She’s a translator from Spanish into English as well as a writer, and she’s published short stories, journalism, essays, and poetry. She’s participated in writer’s groups in every city where she’s lived: Milwaukee, Wisconsin; Austin, Texas; Madrid, Spain; and now Chicago.Jitesh Jaggi is a recent immigrant from India. He uses various forms of artistic expression like storytelling, poetry, dance, and writing to share his narratives. He has read his poems in Mumbai, Paris, and Chicago. A two-time The Moth StorySlam winner, he also coaches individual and corporate clients in telling their professional stories. You can reach out to him at jaggi.jitesh@gmail.com.
