Asheville is home to some of the most talented artists in the country, so it makes sense that three of them — Billy Cardine, Anya Hinkle and Mary Lucey — would join forces and make a musical supergroup. As worldgrass band Tanasi, this gifted trio combines a wealth of influences on its self-titled debut album, including Appalachian, West African, South Asian and Southern African traditions.
