Marrow is Detroit’s first neighborhood butcher shop and restaurant hybrid. Our continued mission is to promote, utilize and advance a healthy, local and sustainable food system while crafting incredible food and providing an unforgettable experience. Full utilization continues to be our priority, priding ourselves on an almost zero-waste operation (and most of that waste is composted). We work to honor local farms by using everything they have to offer - fruit to root and tip to tail. That means sometimes our food can get a little funky, and we like it that way.

We aim to honor this time-honored tradition by showcasing the transformation of our very own beef tallow into your new daily moisturizer. Pro-tip: lotion also makes for a GREAT GIFT (wink wink).During the class, we'll guide you through the step-by-step process of crafting your very own lotion, ensuring you understand the intricacies involved in harnessing the natural goodness of tallow. You'll gain firsthand knowledge about the emulsification process, the blending of nourishing oils, and the incorporation of aromatic essences, all designed to create a personalized lotion tailored to your skincare needs.Y﻿ou'll go home with lotion you make in class, tallow to make more at home, and the knowledge of how to produce more for the holidays.
